Julio knew he wanted to be a filmmaker since he was 8 and, by the time he was 14, he shot his first short film with a Betamax camera labeled “Alamofilms”. This would be the name chosen many years later, when he founded his production company, but between these two moments, he went a long way: he worked as a director of extras, DoP and editor, shooting corporate videos, music videos and filming events.
In 1995, he founded his own production company (Alamofilms, now merged with Garlic) and since then, Julio del Álamo has become one of the most important and influential filmmakers in Spanish advertising. He has created some of the most remarkable campaigns of our time and his work has been acknowledged with numerous national and international awards (Cannes, El Sol, FIAP, etc…).
