Julio knew that he wanted to be a filmmaker since he was 8 years old and, when he was 14, he filmed his first short film with a Betamax camera labeled “Alamofilms”. This would be the name chosen many years later, when he founded his production company, but between these two moments, he went a long way: he worked as extras director, DoP and editor, filming corporate videos, music videos and filming events.
In 1995, he founded his own production company and, since then, Julio del Álamo has become one of the most important and influential filmmakers of Spanish advertising and the rest of the world. He has created some of the most notable campaigns of our time and his work has been recognized with numerous national and international awards (Cannes, El Sol, FIAP, etc.).
He is currently a freelance director, being represented in numerous countries by production companies and agents.
